Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay110.jpgYou may like your boots here at Shoewawa, but it seems that you prefer them in simple styles. Last week's Yay or Nay was, I fear, a bit of a wash-out with only four of you voting - but it was still a very clear case of the Nays. For those of you who liked the contrast button-detailed flat boots, they're £30 from ASOS.

This week's offering is apparently 'the perfect slip-on for the laid back gal' and appears to be geared towards beach / pool-side wear. But what do you think of them? Are they summertastic or foolish flip-flop wannabes? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay109.jpgDolce, Dolce, Dolce. You've been a bad little designer, haven't you! Our last Yay or Nay offering might not have been the ugliest shoe we've ever seen, but they were still voted Dolce duds by a mile. If you still fancy a pair for your trip to somewhere sunny, they're $698.95 at Zappos Couture.

This week's offering is one of those flat-heeled boots that have been taking centre stage this autumn/winter, although in a mid-calf length and with plenty of strap and button detailing, they're just a little more unusual than other styles. But what do you think of them? Are they sensationally strapping or do they simply fall flat? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay108.jpgIt looks like most of you were out shopping for shoes (or, more sensibly, out convincing someone else to buy them for you), because last week's Yay or Nay only got a measly TWO comments! Two! Hilariously, one vote was for Yay and one for Nay, making the novelty Christmas sock fight of 2007 a tied match. If you fancy some homely kitsch socks to keep your feet warm this winter, they're just £5 from Dorothy Perkins.

This week's offering is definitely designer. Described as 'fierce' and suited to sunning oneself by a pool in Morocco, we're more interested in what you think! So: are they glorious Gabbana or Dolce duds? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay107.jpgAccording to last week's Yay or Nay, Marni is still just a bit too controversial a designer for most of our lovely readers! While some of you liked the green flats with their peep-toe detail, it was the thick, almost orthopedic elasticated strap that had the majority of you running for a sick bag. They're £237 from Net-A-Porter.

This week's offering is one of those classic stocking stuffers and the oft' unsung hero of cold feet. But what do you think of them? Are novelty "stay at home" bed socks a comfortable classic or too ridiculous for words? Yay or nay and why?

Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay106.jpgIt was the pairing of matte black and metallic gold that set tongues wagging in last week's Yay or Nay offering. Some of you were keen to flash a little gold at passersby, while others thought it was far too tacky (though the Yays won in the end!). If you're keen on a luxe pair of Roberto Cavalli boots, you can pick them up for a whopping $1748.95 from Zappos Couture.

This week's offering is another designer doozie - an apple green, elasticated, mini-peep-toe flat! Certainly eye-catching, we're keen to know what you think. Are they sweet statement shoes or just garishly green? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay105.jpgDespite the fact that Marc Jacobs has been producing some absolute horrors of late, when it comes to boots, it looks like he can still produce a winner! Although last week's offering wasn't unanimous, a majority of you voted Yay. If you loved the Victorian stylings of his button detail boots, they're £555 from Net-A-Porter.

This week's offering is another pair of knee-highs, looking just a little ancient-roman-inspired with their gold sequin embellishments along the top. But what do you think? Are they gorgeous and gladiator-like, or are they destined to be devoured by lions? Yay or Nay and why?

Yay or Nay Wednesday

yaynay104.jpgI can't tell you how pleased I am to finally see a Yay or Nay offering getting a unanimous standing applause! If you fell madly for the extravagant velvet ruffles and luscious burgundy of last week's offering, they're by Charmone and are (sigh) an investment $349.99.

This week's offering is (yes, I'm giving it away!) from Marc Jacobs. Now, if you're a regular reader, you'll know that Marc and I have not been on the best of terms when it comes to his boots, although this pair... Well, let's just say that I'm not gathering the villagers with their pitchforks and blazing torches. We're interested in what you think, though. Are they magnificent Marc Jacobs or yet another candidate for Ugly Shoe of the Week? Yay or Nay and why?
