We're seeing a lot of open-sided shoes on the designer shelves at the moment; a look that's typified by these high heeled pumps from Reed Krakoff. All these styles have an ankle-tie fastening (presumably they'd be impossible to wear without that extra support!)

What do you think of these rather curious 'Saucy' boots from the current season collection at Kurt Geiger? Taking the in-built winter sock look to another level with a sort of mesh-effect elastic, they'll certainly help you stand out from the crowd.

Christian Louboutin really does seem to be in experimental mode at the moment. Last week we had the strangely clashing, tree-trunk heeled Vichy pumps, now an all-over gingam-print that's arrived blinking into a winter wonderland in anticipation of summer 2011.
