Kate Middleton’s dress was – as predicted by so many – designed Sarah Burton of Alexander Mcqueen and her tiara is a Cartier “Halo” tiara from 1936, lent to her by the Queen. But what of the elusive shoes!? We got the briefest glimpse at them as she stepped into the car en route to the cathedral, and once again when she stepped down from her carriage – noting that they are a fairly high pair of lace shoes with ivory duchesse satin.

We’ve now had confirmation that the shoes were also made by the House of Alexander McQueen, created to complement Kate’s beautiful and elegant lace-sleeved gown. We’re hoping to see a little more of them as coverage continues (and maybe even provide a picture!) but for now they remain hidden beneath meters of silk. We understand that the official photography is about to take place, and will no doubt take some time, but we hope Kate gets to put her feet up before too long; the shoes are certainly taller than many brides would want to tolerate!

Did you get a good look at Kate’s footwear, and what do you think?
